In February 2016, a consortium led by the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) and comprising the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania and the School of German Law at Warsaw University as members, started its engagement under the Terms of Reference of the “Support to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova” project (EuropeAid/136903/DH/SER/MD). The overall objective of this EU funded project is to accelerate the sustainable reform of the justice sector in Moldova and to ensure the rule of law by strengthening the Constitutional Court.

The Project provides assistance to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova (CCM) within the context of the reforms promoted by the Justice Sector Reform Strategy for the years 2011-2016 and the Action Plan to implement the Strategy, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of this institution within the framework of strengthening its activities. As a major constitutional institution supervising human rights protection in the Republic of Moldova, the CCM needs to be accessible and citizens have to have sufficient information on its mandate and competences. The Court needs to inform the public on its work, its proceedings and judgments, as well as the reasoning underpinning these judgments. Such knowledge is the basic requirement for the acceptance of the judgments by the society.

The print media is considered as one of the important sources for the communication. Therefore, print media outlets had been identified in order to publish newspaper inserts throughout the project duration.  To this end, the project is looking for local authors to be contracted for the preparation of relevant newspaper inserts. The article should concern the role, mandate and the functioning of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova.

The article must be prepared in Romanian language and should not exceed 3000 words. The interest could be expressed by all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova having the high legal education, though the civil servants are not eligible for this procedure.  For the selection procedure, the interested authors are advised to provide their applications not later than 2 December 2016. The applications should contain:

1.       CV of the applicant;

2.       Outline of the proposed article.
