2015 The congratulation on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Moldova was received from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of LithuaniaDear Mr. President, Dear Justices and colleagues, On behalf of justices of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania and myself, let me extend to you most cordial congratulations on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova. Our countries share similar experiences in building a free and democratic state and understand the price and value of independence. Our own history and new threats remind us that freedom should not be taken for granted. Therefore, it is important for us to stand together in our continuous efforts to protect our freedom and values of genuine democracy. We will always remember that Moldova was the first country to recognize the restoration of Lithuanian independence in 1990 even if it was still part of the Soviet empire at that time. Once again congratulating you on the occasion of the Independence Day, I would like to wish you courage and strength in protecting the legal values that are necessary for Moldova to flourish as a free and democratic state under the rule of law. Please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.
