The Winners of the Contest ”The Best Constitutional Journalist of 2016” Were Awarded at the Constitutional Court

On Tuesday, 30 May 2017, at the Constitutional Court of Moldova (CCM) took place the award ceremony of the winners of the contest ”The Best Constitutional Journalist of 2016,” held within the period of November 2016 – March 2017: Mrs Ana Bejenaru, reporter of the public TV channel ”Moldova 1” and Mrs Ileana Pîrgaru, reporter of TVR Moldova channel.

The ceremony took place in the sitting room of the Court, in the presence of current and former CCM judges, team members of the EU-funded project ”Support for the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova” and high level international experts invited at the event.

The competitors of the contest were assessed on the basis of the submitted applications, which included topics related to CCM activity reflected in the media by the candidates. The criteria for the selection of the winners included the added value for society, the conformity with the requirements of Code of Journalism Deontology, as well as the presence at CCM sittings and events. The purpose of the contest is to raise awareness of the Moldovan society and the media on the mandate and activity of the Constitutional Court of Moldova.  

The contest was held in cooperation with the EU-funded project ”Support for the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova.”
